2.1.5 Translating and Interpreting Service

The Council provides interpreters and translators in all the major languages spoken in Lambeth. There are also bilingual assistants. To book an interpreter or translator send an email with the following information to the Interpreter Coordinator.

  1. The client's name
  2. Gender
  3. Country of origin
  4. Language required
  5. Date required
  6. Start time
  7. Duration of the meeting
  8. Full address of the meeting place
  9. Purpose of the meeting and reason the interpreter is required

Send the details of the service provider (the person who is booking the interpreter), Service Area and Business Unit, contact details and provide an email, phone number and mobile, in case you are out of the office.

The request will be matched with a suitable interpreter and an email confirmation will be sent. The internal/external charge forms are sent to the users of the service. If the Interpreting Service cannot meet the request, you will be informed and other interpreting services will be suggested. 

The booking service is part-time: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Interpreters/Translators/Bilingual Assistants are available every day.
